DIY hair band

These days, I love sewing. But I am just a beginner, so I choose a relatively simple project to do.
These are the ways I make these hair bands.

materials:
fabric 60 cm x 10 cm
string 12 cm
lace 60 cm

First, sewed the ends of the frabic

pin the lace onto the right side of the fabric. You can skip this step, if you don't want to add  a layer of lace.

then, fold the other end of the fabric and pin again, remember to  pin through all the 3 layers (fabric, lace, fabric)

the result should be like that

sew along the frabic with guidance of the pins. Turn right side out. Two ends should be open.

using this tool to insert the string into the tube

fix the ends of the string and sewed. Next, hand-stitched the  ends of the tube.

Done!

Another lace version

using satin fabric without lace

Polka dot with ribbon

Wedding card series - wedding dress

| | | 12 comments
Hi...This card is totally inspired by this week's the shabby tea room. I choose to create a wedding card this time. I have thought of several ways to present the chevrons pattern...but still not satisfy...

Luckily, after some trials and errors, I find a way to display all the elements. I am using creamy ribbon to create the chevrons pattern on the wedding gown. I have made 2 little blue flowers using ribbons again. The leaves and the frame are in green color. The sentiment was stamped on an orange tag. Lastly, the brown dollies as decoration.

Hope you like it:

Hi, my friend asked me to create a gift for newborn baby. She especially asked for something 3D and more complex. Eventually, I came up with these and I like the littel shoes so much. Well...I have tested the magnets, they are very strong. And it would be very good to see those little shoes on your fridge!

Tips: I have sprayed a layer of clear fixative onto the pattern paper before making the little shoes, the moisture-proof fixative allow the magnets become more durable.

Hi...I have been quiet on the blog for the past 2 weeks, but I am still working on my handmade stuff. First of all, I would like to share a happy news - my card has won the Top 3 from Simply Create. Thanks for the designer team!!!

This time, I am using the vertical sketch challenge from moxie fab world and created 2 totally different styles of cards.

Card 1: Cute style. I reverse the sketch and replace the flags with paper clips. I am using the polaroid idea for framing the image. The final outcome is quite musculine.

Inspiration photo from the Shabby Tea Room

Hi...another new card this week, this card is inspired by Shabby Tea Room of using a tea theme with blue and green. I have seen alot of teapot cards among the crafting world. It's one of the hot theme to create on. But suprisingly, I haven't made one by myself!!! So, I looked up all my stamps and digi to find the tea theme elements.  It's always a fun to look for "pearls" over your treasure box.

This week, Stampin' Sister in Christ wants us to use something from your stash that you 'just had to have' cause you would use it everyday....but have forgotten about...

Actually, I am a kind of "tea-holic" person, need a cup of tea every morning. But I haven't made anything out of my favourite! I think the creation of this card just fit the theme of SSIC :=)

Heehee...I like the flower very much, because it was the wrapping paper of a pair of new shoes. I think the pattern is quite nice, so I keep it till now and turn it into a flower. The sentiment and the cup image was stamped on a piece of tracing paper and I tear it to create a more casual look. Hope you like it.

Thank you for stopping by :=)

I enter my card to the following challenges:
